The position available is for a Sous Chef at one of the group’s artisanal pizzerias, a role pivotal to maintaining the high standards of food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction the brand is known for. The Sous Chef will support daily back-of-house operations, ensuring that the kitchen functions smoothly and efficiently while upholding the highest standards for food preparation and service. In this role, the Sous Chef will lead and inspire the culinary team, setting a professional tone that emphasizes passion for food, hospitality, and teamwork. Responsibilities include executing and maintaining recipe and plating standards consistently to ensure quality, flavor, and presentation meet the brand’s expectations. The Sous Chef will oversee daily preparation and production tasks, coordinating station set-up and batch production to support timely service. Managing ingredient ordering and kitchen supplies will be an important aspect of the job to minimize shortages and waste, aligning inventory with business needs.

A key element of this role involves maintaining strict food safety protocols, ensuring that food handling, storage, labeling, and cleanliness meet health department requirements and create a safe working environment. The Sous Chef will be actively involved in hands-on work on the line and in preparation areas, coaching team members in real-time to deliver an excellent guest experience consistently.

Effective communication with the General Manager and culinary leadership is crucial for coordinating product needs and prep priorities across shifts, ensuring smooth operations throughout service periods. Candidates with a minimum of two years’ experience as a Sous Chef in a casual full-service restaurant or pizzeria with revenue exceeding $4 million are preferred, along with a strong understanding of prep, production, station execution, ordering, inventory management, and food safety.

This role also seeks candidates who possess emotional intelligence, humility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Experience with pizza preparation is required, and Spanish language skills are highly desirable, reflecting the diverse team and community served. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef for a $4M+ casual full-service restaurant/pizzeria
  • Strong understanding of prep, production, and station execution, with consistent follow through on recipes and standards
  • Experience with ordering and basic inventory to keep ingredients and supplies on hand
  • Food safety knowledge and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and health code compliance
  • Emotionally intelligent, humble, and composed under pressure
  • Pizza experience is required
  • Spanish speaking skills highly desired
