The Piney's Cafe Pool Server role at Sunriver Resort is a seasonal opportunity that offers a dynamic and engaging work environment by the poolside during the summer months. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of service expected by the resort's guests. As a Pool Server, you will be responsible for general cashier and serving duties within Piney's Café, focusing on excellent guest service and smooth operational procedures. The position involves taking orders via a POS system, handling payments accurately, reporting tips and hours properly, and adhering strictly to OLCC and Sunriver Resort policies. Additionally, the server assists chefs and cooks, offers poolside service to guests, maintains cleanliness, and promotes special offers. A strong emphasis is placed on knowledge about the menu, including food, beer, wine, and signature cocktails, to effectively engage guests and enhance their dining experience.

This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills as you will be interacting with both internal teams and external guests, ensuring that the Sunriver Resort culture is upheld, and the resort is promoted as a destination and employer of choice. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, walk intermittently, and occasionally lift or push/pull varying weights. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least six months food and beverage experience
At least one year customer service experience
Familiarity with POS systems
Basic computer proficiency
Minimum age of 18 years
Ability to follow instructions accurately
Strong communication skills
Teamwork orientation
Valid OLCC card or ability to obtain prior to start date
Valid Oregon Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain prior to start date
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

High school education required
Prior hospitality experience preferred
At least six months food and beverage experience preferred
At least one year customer service experience preferred
At least six months POS system experience preferred
Basic computer skills to include Microsoft
Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must possess excellent communication skills
Must always ensure a teamwork environment
Must have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid OLCC card
Must have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Oregon Food Handler's permit
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 30 lbs
Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

Takes guests orders using POS system
Receives proper and accurate payment from guests
Distributes appropriate change
Accurately reports tips and hours each shift using proper documents
Adheres to OLCC and Sunriver Resort policies and procedures
Ensures bookkeeping policies and procedures are followed daily
Assists chefs/cooks with food preparation
Provides pool service to guests of The Forest House
Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift and end of shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change
Adheres to proper cash drop procedures and closing out daily procedure
Serves guests food and beverages tableside/lounge chair side
Wipes down all surfaces to ensure the cleanliness of the facility
Informs and promotes guests of any specials
Checks guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages
Removes dishes, glasses, silverware or other item from tables and countertops and takes them to the kitchen for proper sanitation
Processes dishes through washer and puts away dishes, glassware and equipment
Familiarizes him/herself with menu
Maintains knowledge of beer/wine/signature cocktails offered
Offers creative selling of products to guests
Answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus as needed
Explains how various menu items are prepared, describing cooking methods and ingredients
Takes into consideration any special request, dietary issues made by the guest
Provides general resort information for guests
