The organization fosters an inclusive work environment where employees from diverse social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are valued and welcomed. This culture supports collaboration and innovation to maximize their impact on environmental conservation.
The position available is for a full-time Pickup Driver & Material Handler in the Zero Waste program based in Boulder, CO. Reporting directly to the Zero Waste Manager, this role is pivotal in promoting sustainability efforts by keeping valuable materials in use that would otherwise be discarded. This job involves operating medium-duty vehicles such as a 16-foot box truck, an 18-foot flatbed truck with a Donkey forklift, and a 1.5-ton truck with a 16-foot dump trailer. The primary responsibility is to pick up used construction materials from residential and commercial remodeling projects. The Pickup Driver & Material Handler ensures materials are handled safely and efficiently, delivers exceptional customer service to program participants, and supports the sorting, pricing, and restocking of materials at the Resource Central Material Reuse facility.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22 to $25, and Resource Central provides comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions, generous paid time off, paid holidays, health and dependent care flexible spending account matches, wellness benefit reimbursement, and a free bus pass. The work schedule is flexible, with options for a compressed workweek or part-time hours considered, making it a great fit for those seeking work-life balance while contributing to a cause they care deeply about. Candidates interested in making a tangible environmental impact at a growing nonprofit are encouraged to apply and join a committed team driving real change across Colorado.
