Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum local driving experience
- Ability to lift and maneuver freight
- Willingness to comply with DOT regulations
- Ability to work day shifts
- Passing of background check under 49 CFR Part 391
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Proven local driving experience
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and lift gates
- Knowledge of local traffic routes
- Ability to perform loading and unloading tasks
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation regulations
Job Duties
- Transport freight in safe and prompt manner
- interact with our clients and customers in a professional and courteous manner with limited supervision
- comply with Department of Transportation regulations and laws
- maintain responsibility for safety and security of company equipment and customer goods
- load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with the assistance of a co-worker, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment, as required
- record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading, delivery receipts, and tally sheets
- maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
- hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including cranking levers to raise and lower landing gear
- fuel trucks and tractors
- perform all other work-related duties as assigned
