Job Description
Southern Tire Mart is the largest commercial tire dealer in North America, known for being a leading provider of premium brands and retread tires. As a family-owned and operated business with national reach, Southern Tire Mart fosters a culture focused on safety, growth, and a customer-first approach. This commitment has positioned the company as a trusted supplier within the tire, automotive, and logistics industries. Employees at Southern Tire Mart are empowered to develop their skills within a growing national company where career advancement opportunities are available, supported by comprehensive training programs and a strong emphasis on workplace safety and customer service excellence.
The role of a Delivery Driver at Southern Tire Mart involves safely operating company vehicles, which may include light, medium, or heavy-duty trucks depending on the driver's license, to execute daily pickup and delivery routes. This position requires loading and unloading tires, wheels, and parts, some of which can weigh up to 100 lbs, using proper safety techniques and equipment. Delivery Drivers are responsible for delivering products to customer locations in a timely, courteous, and professional manner, verifying delivery contents, and obtaining required signatures and documentation. Accurate record-keeping is crucial for this role, including maintaining delivery logs, receipts, and daily driver logs in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
In addition to delivery responsibilities, drivers assist with inventory organization, stocking, and cycle counts as needed. They also support service technicians by transporting tires to and from service calls or job sites. The role includes conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any issues to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Delivery Drivers must adhere strictly to company policies, safety guidelines, and DOT regulations to maintain operational standards and protect themselves and others.
This position requires flexibility, including availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime. Southern Tire Mart values strong time management and communication skills and prefers candidates with previous delivery or route driving experience. While a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not mandatory for most delivery driver roles, it may be preferred for those handling larger vehicles. The company prioritizes maintaining a clean driving record and a commitment to safety through passing drug screenings and background checks.
Joining Southern Tire Mart means becoming part of a team where safety, customer service, and professional growth are paramount. The company offers a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with company match, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and on-the-job training. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a stable career in the transportation and logistics field within a respected and expanding company.
