Job Description

Foothills Professional Pharmacy is a rapidly growing independent compounding pharmacy specializing in dermatology, hormone replacement therapy, wellness, weight management, and telemedicine fulfillment services. This nationally licensed 503A compounding site serves patients and healthcare providers across all 50 states of the United States. Located in Tempe, Arizona, the pharmacy is committed to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient through advanced compounding techniques and an innovative telehealth platform. The company's growth and expansion initiatives aim to strengthen its telehealth partnerships and broaden its patient base, particularly ensuring compliance with both Arizona and California state pharmacy regulations.

The current opening is for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to take a leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to be part of an ambitious team committed to delivering excellence in pharmaceutical services. As the PIC, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all relevant state and federal laws and regulations, particularly those governing compounding pharmacies. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and patient safety. This role requires a strong background in non-sterile compounding operations, leadership capabilities, and comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy best practices including USP <795> standards.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the pharmacy leadership and staff to optimize workflow and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include final verification and quality checks on compounded prescriptions, reviewing and approving compounding formulas and batch records, supporting audits and inspections, and maintaining accurate documentation. Candidates must possess an active and unrestricted California pharmacist license, with Arizona licensure preferred or a willingness to obtain it. This position demands excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 40-hour work week. Limited remote flexibility may be available following onboarding. The position initially is a 13-week contract with an opportunity to convert to a permanent role, offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. This role is ideal for pharmacists who are motivated to make a meaningful impact in an innovative, forward-thinking pharmaceutical setting focused on telehealth and specialized compounded medications. If you are a California-licensed pharmacist with leadership experience seeking to join a dynamic team dedicated to patient-centered care, Foothills Professional Pharmacy invites you to apply.
