Currently, Pacific Companies Inc. is expanding its ophthalmology program to support eye care facilities in the Detroit, Michigan market. This expansion aims to address the growing demand for specialized ophthalmologic services in the region by recruiting ophthalmology physicians who can provide comprehensive eye care at both full-time and part-time capacities. The Kresge Eye Institute treats over 90,000 patients annually and performs nearly 4,000 surgical procedures, covering a broad spectrum of ophthalmic specialties. Physicians working in this role will have the opportunity to engage with subspecialties including glaucoma and filtering surgery, cataract and lens implant surgery, corneal transplantation and refractive surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, orbital diseases and plastic surgery, retinal disease and vitreous surgery, and diabetic eye care. This position offers a dynamic clinical environment where patient care is prioritized and the physician experience is enriched by academic affiliation options and collaboration with leading clinical ophthalmologists.

Candidates can expect a flexible schedule with options for day and night shifts as 24-hour call coverage is a component of the service model. The job offers both locum tenens and permanent positions, catering to varied career preferences. Compensation is competitive, with the company providing malpractice insurance, travel, and lodging expenses. Physicians stepping into these roles will enjoy working in Detroit, a thriving city known for its excellent educational institutions, professional sports, luxury shopping, diverse dining options, and rich cultural scene including theater, symphony, and opera. The city offers some of the best housing values in the country, with unique options such as lakefront and horse properties.

This opportunity not only allows physicians to deliver critical eye care services to a broad metropolitan population but also to experience life in a vibrant urban setting with all the conveniences and amenities it offers.
