Job Duties
- Greet patients at arrival, initiate appropriate paperwork, complete patient registration and insurance verification
- Collect patient insurance co-payments and outstanding balances, establish payment plans
- Work electronic medical record work queues to correct registration errors
- Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies, process insurance paperwork
- Update patient charts and obtain necessary patient signatures
- Answer multi-line phone system, screen and direct calls
- Provide general clerical support including faxing documentation, completing forms, and managing patient record releases
- Assist with industrial claims processing including attaching dictations and authorizations
- Maintain and organize patient charts, scan documents into EMR
- Attend staff meetings and in-house education seminars
- Sort, distribute, and mail transcription
- Order and stock office supplies
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of office equipment
- Provide support to staff members as assigned
