Job Description

The Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) based in Leominster, Massachusetts, is a highly respected and mission-driven healthcare program dedicated to providing comprehensive care to elderly patients. It is recognized as the largest PACE site in New England and the sixth largest in the United States, marking it as a leading provider in this specialized field of medicine. This program focuses on delivering quality-over-quantity care, emphasizing personalized and gold-standard geriatric medicine. It operates on a care delivery model that moves away from the constraints of typical fee-for-service systems, allowing physicians and their teams to devote the required time and attention to the complex clinical and social needs of their elderly participants. The program is grounded on core values such as compassion, collaboration, excellence, respect, and integrity, making it a welcoming and supportive work environment for healthcare providers who share these principles.

Leominster's PACE program is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Physician to join their interdisciplinary team in central Massachusetts. This is an exceptional opportunity for physicians who are passionate about supporting senior and geriatric patients and are ready to commit to a care model that values quality and patient-centered outcomes. The role offers a boutique practice model characterized by providing comprehensive, high-quality care without the typical volume pressures faced by many physicians. This allows for a fantastic quality of life with a convenient Monday to Friday schedule, no night, weekend, or holiday shifts, and a dedicated administrative day each week with no patient care duties. The patient panel size is small, averaging 60-75 patients per team, with only 2-5 patients seen per day, enabling physicians to spend more meaningful time per patient. The call schedule is very light and phone-based, averaging one call per twelve physicians, further enhancing work-life balance.

Physicians will work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and dietitians. This team approach ensures that the comprehensive care needs of frail elders are met through site visits, home visits, and nursing home visits, with the primary goal of enabling seniors to remain independent in their communities for as long as possible. J1 and H1b visa support is available for qualified candidates, making this an accessible opportunity for international medical graduates as well.

The compensation package is highly competitive, with a base salary ranging from $275,000 to $300,000 per year based on experience. Additional benefits include generous sign-on and corporate incentive bonuses, performance-based annual salary increases, and a comprehensive time-off policy that includes 23 paid vacation days annually (which increases after five years of service), 12 paid holidays, and 5 sick days. Continuing medical education (CME) is supported with an annual budget of $2,500 for related expenses. The program also provides health, dental, disability, and liability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement plans with company matching, paid license fees, and relocation assistance.

Leominster itself is a vibrant city located in Central Massachusetts, known for its affordability, convenience, and family-friendly quality of life. With a population of over 40,000, it offers residents access to excellent public and private schools, a strong local economy, and a variety of recreational activities. Nestled just 20 minutes north of Worcester and within an hour's commute to Boston via freeway and commuter rail, Leominster combines the benefits of suburban living with proximity to world-class healthcare, universities, arts, cultural experiences, and major employment centers. Residents enjoy all four seasons with plenty of outdoor attractions such as hiking, biking, lakes, golf, skiing at nearby Wachusett Mountain, farmers markets, local breweries, and year-round community festivals. This unique combination of career opportunity and exceptional quality of life makes this position highly attractive to physicians seeking meaningful work in a supportive community setting.
