The available position is for a Primary Care Physician Assistant (PA) who is licensed, certified, and credentialed to perform a wide scope of medical duties. The role offers a structured work schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call responsibilities—allowing for work-life balance. The patient volume is approximately 18 patients per day, which is designed to enable meaningful and thorough patient engagements rather than rushed visits.

This PA position operates within a comprehensive scope of practice that includes acute and follow-up appointments, pre- and post-operative care, and office procedures such as Nexplanon insertions, IUD placements, joint injections, incision and drainage, suturing, and biopsies. It caters to new and established patients alike, ensuring continuity of care while allowing the provider to develop patient relationships and manage complex health needs efficiently.

New graduates are encouraged to apply and will benefit from robust training and mentorship programs, including 12 to 18 months of physician oversight, a Thrive Program, clinic orientation, and structured onboarding activities. Although the preferred experience level is two or more years, the clinic remains open to PA candidates who have just graduated. As a Primary Care PA with Baylor Scott & White Health, the individual will be responsible for conducting physical and mental health assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing procedures within their scope of practice. This includes patient counseling about medical conditions, medication regimens, nutrition, and health promotion strategies. The position emphasizes the creation and implementation of detailed, evidence-based treatment plans developed in collaboration with supervising physicians and other healthcare team members.

The PA will also have prescriptive authority and the role is recognized as an independent provider credentialed by Medicare and Medicaid. This allows for comprehensive patient care management in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, or pediatrics settings. The position demands strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in the use of healthcare information systems.
