This Neuro Hospitalist role involves evaluating patients' conditions, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, and prescribing appropriate medications and therapies. The candidate will develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring the effectiveness of care provided. Counseling patients and families about disease management, medication regimens, nutrition, and preventive health measures is an essential aspect of the role. Providers are also responsible for maintaining detailed records of treatment and outcomes, initiating consultations when necessary, and performing invasive procedures within their scope of practice.

Job Requirements

  • Licensed and certified Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Ability to perform invasive procedures within scope of practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused exams and medical histories
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe, recommend, and employ medical drug therapies and therapeutic treatments according to protocols
  • Formulate and implement patient treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based medicine, and professional guidelines
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management, medications, nutrition, and health promotion
  • Maintain detailed records of treatment plans and outcomes
  • Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician
