Job Description
Jostens, a revered leader in the student commemoration market for over 125 years, is known for its commitment to preserving special moments and traditions through its iconic products such as yearbooks, letter jackets, class jewelry, and championship rings. Serving thousands of K-12 schools, colleges, and universities annually, Jostens plays a pivotal role in celebrating the unique stories and milestones of millions of individuals across the country. The company operates 13 first-class facilities worldwide, ranging from North America to the Caribbean, and is dedicated to inclusivity and equal opportunity in employment. As a global company with deep local roots, Jostens fosters a culture of support, innovation, and excellence, providing employees with a rewarding environment where commitment and performance are recognized and rewarded.
The Seasonal Photo Team Manager role at Jostens is an exciting hybrid position based in Richmond, VA, and surrounding cities. Starting June 15, 2026, this position offers a dynamic blend of remote and onsite work at various school locations. The role is perfect for individuals with leadership skills who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and who have a passion for photography and creating memorable experiences for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. As a Photo Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a talented team of photographers, ensuring the flawless execution of school photography operations. This entails a combination of leadership, training, logistical coordination, and hands-on event management.
You will attend a comprehensive 3-day paid "Train the Trainer" session at JostensPIX Headquarters in Minnesota, along with paid virtual training sessions. You will organize local pre-season training locations for your photographers and collaborate directly with a Training Specialist to mentor and guide your team throughout the season. Managing photo day logistics is a critical responsibility, including scheduling photographers, overseeing equipment storage, and coordinating weekly pickups of photographic materials. Employee management duties involve interviewing and hiring photographers, managing school assignments, and ensuring clear communication with team members and school contacts. You will also be responsible for upholding JostensPIX photography standards and ensuring consistent attendance and performance.
On peak event days, you may take on the role of Photographer or Event Lead, directly supporting the team and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth operations. The position requires travel within the assigned hub and physical stamina to manage the demands of the job, such as lifting equipment. Flexibility is essential to accommodate early mornings, evenings, and travel needs. Jostens offers competitive pay ranging from $25.50 to $27.50 per hour, full-time status with eligibility for healthcare benefits, flexible seasonal work from June through November with the possibility of extension, and opportunities for overtime pay during busy periods. Additional perks include paid training, a daily pay option via DailyPay, voluntary benefits including discounts on insurance and travel perks, and support for your professional growth and wellbeing.
The Photo Team Manager role at Jostens is more than a job; it's an opportunity to lead a passionate team dedicated to capturing precious moments that last a lifetime. You will play a vital role in maintaining Jostens' stellar reputation, contributing to local communities, and helping students and families commemorate their most cherished memories. Join Jostens and be part of a company that values your success, rewards your dedication, and supports your wellbeing in an inspiring and inclusive workplace.
