We are currently looking to hire a Phlebotomist Float to join our dynamic team. This role is unique in that it involves floating between multiple Labcorp locations including Joliet, Chicago, Orland Park, La Grange, Schaumburg, Oakbrook, Wilmington, and Hoffman Estates. The phlebotomist will perform essential duties in collecting blood and other specimens from patients of all ages, ensuring samples are properly prepared for testing and analysis, and assisting with administrative tasks. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7am to 9pm with rotating Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
The Phlebotomist Float position is ideal for individuals who thrive in varied environments and enjoy working with diverse patient populations. By traveling to different locations, this role provides practitioners with a broad spectrum of experience in clinical specimen collection under different settings. Employees in this role will develop strong technical skills in venipuncture and capillary techniques, gain excellent patient interaction experience, and contribute to the efficient operation of multiple Labcorp sites.
Compensation for this role ranges from $17.50 to $24.50 per hour depending on skills and experience, with additional benefits such as a $2.00 per hour float incentive plus mileage reimbursement. Phlebotomists at Labcorp may also be eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus through the PST Incentive Plan. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent
- phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- in lieu of work experience, phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- ability to work independently or in a team environment
- strong communication skills
- comfortable working under minimal supervision
- flexibility to work overtime as needed
- able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- be at least 21 years old
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent
- phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- 3 years or more of phlebotomy experience preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to work independently or in a team environment
- proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Job Duties
- perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc
- perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- process billing information and collect payments as necessary
- prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- maintain patient and specimen information logs
- provide superior customer service to all patients
- perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- travel to additional sites when needed
