This hospital boasts 94 private beds and is continuously expanding its services to accommodate the needs of its rapidly growing community. With a comprehensive range of medical offerings, CSRH-NB is equipped with innovative medical equipment and advanced procedures, including an Outpatient Imaging Center, orthopedic and surgical services, rehabilitation programs, a modernized birthing center with 24/7 neonatal coverage, emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric treatment centers, 3D mammography, and inclusive heart care services that span diagnostics to open-heart surgery. The hospital is committed to delivering high-quality care through the integration of cutting-edge technologies and highly skilled medical professionals, ensuring that patients receive excellent healthcare in a compassionate and efficient manner.
The position of Pharmacy Technician at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels involves working directly under the supervision of Clinical Pharmacists to provide essential pharmacy services that support patient care. Pharmacy Technicians in this role are responsible for carrying out non-judgmental technical duties that aid pharmacists in delivering safe and effective medication therapies. The position is full-time, with multiple shifts available, allowing some flexibility to accommodate different schedules. Pharmacy Technicians at CSRH-NB engage in a variety of clinical, operational, and specialty-specific tasks, including assisting with medication histories, training junior technicians, preparing and verifying drug orders, compounding pharmaceutical products, and maintaining comprehensive medication records.
More than just technical skill, this role requires a dedication to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Pharmacy Technicians help ensure that controlled substances are properly issued and recorded, assist in ambulatory care including anticoagulation clinics and discharge medication reconciliation, and support outpatient dispensary functions for retail prescriptions. They play a critical role in sustaining the hospital’s drug formulary, promoting rational drug therapy, and participating in quality improvement and medication use reviews. Moreover, they provide drug education to patients and pharmacy associates alike, fostering an environment of informed and effective medication management.
This position demands adherence to stringent safety protocols due to potential occupational hazards such as exposure to hazardous substances, sharp instruments, and biologic materials while performing job duties. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital emphasizes ongoing competency by requiring current licensure and continuous education, including IV certification where applicable. The Pharmacy Technician role is ideal for candidates passionate about healthcare and dedicated to supporting pharmacists in optimizing patient medication outcomes, contributing to the overall mission of CHRISTUS Health to provide compassionate and excellent care.
