Job Description
Clever Care Health Plan is a rapidly growing Medicare Advantage plan based in Southern California, dedicated to providing innovative healthcare solutions to diverse communities throughout the region. With an unprecedented 112 percent year-over-year membership growth, Clever Care is committed to delivering accessible and culturally aligned health benefits that blend Western medicine with holistic Eastern practices. This unique approach reflects the company’s mission to meet the specific needs of its members by offering benefits rooted in cultural values and holistic wellbeing, making it a standout player in the healthcare space.
Operating as a dynamic and fast-moving organization, Clever Care prioritizes diversity, inclusivity, and innovation. The company is keen on transforming healthcare for underserved communities, ensuring accessibility, and improving health outcomes. It fosters a supportive work environment where employees have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, helping to shape the future of healthcare while being part of a team that celebrates cultural diversity and groundbreaking care models.
The Pharmacy Technician role at Clever Care is an essential position that works on a hybrid schedule requiring residents to be located in Los Angeles or Orange County. The position offers a competitive wage range of $29.00 to $35.00 per hour, aligning with California standards but subject to adjustment based on candidate residency. The role centers on facilitating medication adherence and supporting network pharmacies and members throughout the medication refill process.
In this role, the Pharmacy Technician acts as a vital liaison between members, caregivers, pharmacies, and internal teams to ensure members consistently receive their prescribed medications without interruption. The technician proactively conducts outreach concerning medication refills, addresses refill barriers, resolves pharmacy-related issues, and escalates clinical questions to pharmacists when necessary. This position is directly linked to performance metrics such as STARS and HEDIS, helping to improve healthcare outcomes by closing medication adherence gaps.
The Pharmacy Technician also engages with members in person at Clever Care Community Centers and during member events, reflecting the company’s commitment to direct community involvement and member support. The role involves working with numerous technology platforms and vendor portals, requiring technicians to be adept at learning and adapting to evolving tools and workflows. The technician supports continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on system usability and operational processes.
Additionally, the position demands adherence to regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other federal and state laws, to maintain compliance. The technician’s mission is to enhance the member experience with expert coordination of pharmacy services while ensuring accuracy in documenting interactions and maintaining workflow consistency. Physical demands include the ability to travel, perform repetitive motion tasks, and collaborate effectively within a feedback-driven team environment. The role may involve irregular hours based on business needs, reflecting its flexible and responsive nature.
By joining Clever Care, the Pharmacy Technician becomes part of a workplace that values equal employment opportunities and affirmative action. The company ensures a non-discriminatory hiring process irrespective of race, color, national origin, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, and other protected categories, committing to a respectful and inclusive workforce. This position not only offers the opportunity to work in an innovative healthcare company but also to play a crucial role in elevating the standard of care for vulnerable populations in Southern California.
