The role available is for a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, a vital position that supports both pharmacy operations and customer-facing functions within the store. This position requires the ability to deliver exceptional customer service, performing duties ranging from assisting customers at checkout to helping licensed pharmacists with prescription processing and inventory management. The Pharmacy Technician not only registers sales and processes transactions efficiently but also ensures compliance with state and federal regulations when handling pharmaceutical products. This includes entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately, counting and filling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, and assisting in maintaining pharmacy workflow schedules.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekend hours
ability to assist licensed pharmacists under direct supervision in processing prescriptions
ability to operate cash register and handle transactions
ability to maintain store appearance and merchandising
ability to follow company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships

Job Qualifications

Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English except in Puerto Rico
willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
six months of retail experience preferred
prior Walgreens experience preferred
good math skills preferred for accurate prescription filling
good computer skills preferred
knowledge of store inventory control preferred
PTCB certification preferred

Job Duties

Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience
registers sales on assigned cash register, provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
assists pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practice including using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions
engages customers and patients by greeting and offering assistance, resolves customer issues and answers questions
recommends items and trade-up or companion products to customers
handles voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges
maintains clean, well-merchandised counters and shelves, takes inventory, prices merchandise
fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting and verifying pharmaceutical drugs
reports prescription errors immediately to pharmacist
handles telephone calls related to pharmacy
processes manual claims for third-party prescription services
assists in inventory management activities including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals
ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco
creates and maintains promotional displays
assists with food item separation and stock rotation
operates store systems and equipment
provides customer service in photo area including digital and print services
handles web pick-up orders
assists with store maintenance and appearance
complies with company policies and procedures
completes special assignments as directed
