Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • ability to read and understand patient, medication and pharmacy labels
  • interpersonal skills to interact with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professional to obtain, verify and exchange information
  • successful completion of the Hazardous Drug Handling competency
  • ability to work rotating shifts to include day, evening shift and every other weekend
  • experience working in a hospital pharmacy preferred

Job Duties

  • Reports to the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor/Operations Manager for the assigned area
  • assist in the distribution and delivery of medications
  • maintain medication inventory
  • deliver medications promptly and safely
  • return unused medications to the pharmacy
  • triage phone calls and messages related to medications
  • return medications to stock
