Job Description

Walgreens is a leading pharmacy and retail health company that has been serving communities across the United States and Puerto Rico since its founding in 1901. With over 8,000 stores and more than 211,000 dedicated team members, including approximately 85,000 healthcare service providers, Walgreens is committed to being the first choice for pharmacy, retail, and health services. The company builds trusted relationships with customers, patients, team members, and communities to create healthier futures through a combination of innovative services and a compassionate approach to healthcare. Walgreens places a strong emphasis on career advancement, work-life balance, and a supportive work environment, making it an employer of choice for healthcare professionals nationwide.

The role of a Pharmacist at Walgreens is vital in reshaping the future of patient-focused care. As medication experts and trusted healthcare providers, Walgreens pharmacists deliver exceptional pharmacy consulting services, educating patients on medication usage, side effects, and affordable options. They also provide critical clinical healthcare services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and medication therapy management. Pharmacists ensure medication safety by adhering to precise compounding, dispensing, and regulatory compliance standards. Additionally, they play a leadership role in mentoring and training pharmacy team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $60.90 to $82.30, depending on geographic location and other factors. Walgreens prioritizes flexible scheduling options to accommodate diverse lifestyles, along with paid time off available after three months of service where permitted by state law. The company also supports family health with comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, as well as wellness programs, mental health support, and family-forming financial assistance. For future career growth, Walgreens provides opportunities for advancement into leadership roles, access to Walgreens University for professional development, employee discounts, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, including student loan payment matches.

Joining Walgreens as a pharmacist means becoming part of a purpose-driven career that combines expert healthcare delivery with meaningful community impact. Walgreens fosters an inclusive culture that values lifelong learning and problem-solving abilities among its pharmacists, encouraging continuous professional growth. This position invites pharmacists who are patient-focused, collaborative leaders who are ready to navigate complex healthcare challenges and build trusted relationships with patients and colleagues alike.
