Job Description
Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is a prominent hospitality company recognized for its exceptional culinary and service standards. Known for operating a variety of restaurants, concessions, and catering services that cater to a diverse clientele, Patina Restaurant Group emphasizes quality, innovation, and teamwork in its work culture. As part of Delaware North, a global food service and hospitality provider, Patina champions creating memorable guest experiences through culinary excellence and dedicated service. This commitment to high standards makes it a sought-after employer in the foodservice industry and a leader in event-based and venue dining experiences.
Patina Restaurant Group is currently hiring Cooks to join their team for the prestigious PGA Championships. This temporary, event-based opportunity is designed for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to contribute to a high-profile sporting event. The employment is scheduled over eight days with specific shifts that require dedication and punctuality. A bonus incentive is offered for those who complete all eight days without any lateness or absenteeism, encouraging reliability and consistency.
The role of Cook at the PGA Championships involves preparing food to exact specifications and quality standards before and during the event. Candidates will be expected to handle an array of kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, grills, ovens, and steamers to ensure food items are prepared efficiently and safely. Maintaining food safety and freshness is paramount, as is adhering to proper storage practices and portion control. Cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas are critical responsibilities, as is compliance with health codes and sanitation regulations throughout the event.
Beyond basic food preparation, Cooks will be responsible for monitoring inventory, managing waste by following control guidelines, and completing opening and closing duties. The event's fast-paced nature demands teamwork, a commitment to excellence, and a service-oriented mindset to help create a memorable experience for guests attending the PGA Championships. Candidates must maintain focus, handle physical demands such as lifting and prolonged standing, and perform other duties as assigned in a dynamic and sometimes challenging kitchen environment.
The job schedule consists of two possible options, both including a mandatory initial day on Sunday, May 10th, for all cooks, which is critical for onboarding and confirming commitment. The following days involve variable shifts ranging from early morning starts to mid-afternoon or early evening finishes, reflecting the operational needs during the PGA Championships. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, event-driven culinary settings and value working with a team dedicated to delivering top-tier service and quality food.
