Job Description

Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is a renowned leader in hospitality and foodservice with a strong legacy of excellence and innovation. Renowned for operating a diverse portfolio of dining venues across various prestigious locations, Patina Restaurant Group has built a reputation for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding guest service. Their focus on sustainability, creativity, and commitment to quality makes them a top choice for food enthusiasts and professionals alike. Being part of Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality services, the group benefits from vast resources and opportunities for growth and advancement within the dynamic foodservice industry.

This job opportunity is for Cook positions available specifically for the PGA Championships event, showcasing a unique blend of fast-paced, high-profile culinary work alongside a team committed to culinary excellence. The employment is temporary and scheduled to cover an 8-day event, with specific shifts requiring flexibility to work various hours according to two possible schedules provided. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food quality and sanitation.

Cooks in this role will be responsible for preparing food according to strict specifications both before and during the event. Precision in measuring and portioning food items is required to ensure consistency and compliance with all quality standards, department policies, and health regulations. Utilizing a range of kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens, employees will contribute actively to the kitchen operations. Maintaining proper food temperatures and correct storage to uphold freshness and safety standards is essential.

The position demands that Cooks keep their workstations, as well as coolers and kitchen equipment, clean, organized, sanitized, and well-stocked at all times. Compliance with all health codes and sanitation regulations is critical to ensuring a safe food preparation environment. Candidates will need to actively observe waste control guidelines, record waste accurately, and assist in completing inventory and other opening or closing duties as per established procedures.

Physically, the role requires manual dexterity for chopping, mixing, and blending a variety of foods and liquids, the ability to lift and carry heavy pans (up to 50 lbs), and the physical stamina to stand and walk throughout shifts that may last several hours. Working in environments that can be hot, damp, and noisy is a routine aspect of this role. Ability to maneuver kitchen equipment safely, including occasional pushing and pulling of heavy items, is necessary.

Joining the Patina Restaurant Group team for this major sporting event offers cooks not only an exciting and challenging work environment but also the chance to earn a bonus by completing the entire 8-day schedule without being late or calling off. Sunday, May 10th is a mandatory working day for cooks to continue employment throughout the event week, and candidates must engage with the screening team to finalize details and eligibility for potential bonuses.

This temporary culinary opportunity is ideal for cooks looking to showcase their skills in a high-stakes environment, work collaboratively within a passionate team, and contribute to creating memorable guest experiences at one of golf's premier events. It offers valuable experience in event-based food preparation and hospitality, while supporting professional growth within a respected restaurant group.
