Job Description
Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is a renowned hospitality company known for delivering exceptional dining experiences across diverse venues. Specializing in high-quality foodservice, they consistently emphasize teamwork, excellence, and customer satisfaction. For the prestigious PGA Championships, Delaware North is seeking experienced and dedicated Cooks to join their team at the marketplace onsite. This is a unique opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to be part of a memorable sporting event experience. The roles are seasonal with set schedules spanning from May 10th to May 17th, with two different shift options available per day to accommodate varying availabilities. This employment type is temporary but integral in ensuring smooth operations and excellent foodservice during the championship.
Cooks working in this role will be responsible for preparing food items accurately according to specific recipes and food production standards. They must ensure all food products are measured correctly, cooked to the right temperatures, and packaged properly to maintain quality and freshness. A high level of attention to detail is critical as compliance with health codes and sanitation regulations is mandatory. The role demands manual dexterity and physical stamina since cooks are frequently standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout their shifts. The work environment can be hot, damp, and noisy, requiring adaptability and resilience. Communication and cooperation with the kitchen team and screening team are essential for operational success. There is also a significant bonus opportunity for those who complete all 8 days of scheduled work without any tardiness or absences, highlighting the importance of reliability and commitment.
The schedule includes early mornings starting as early as 5:30 AM and can extend up to 6:00 PM, depending on the day and assigned shift. Sunday, May 10th is a mandatory workday, serving as an introductory session for all cooks to prepare for the rest of the event. This detailed schedule ensures that all food preparation areas are adequately staffed throughout the PGA Championships.
Overall, this role is perfect for motivated cooks with a background in back-of-the-house foodservice who are looking to gain valuable event catering experience. The job not only involves culinary skills but also emphasizes maintaining cleanliness, organizing kitchen stations, controlling waste, and supporting inventory processes. Participating in this event as a Cook offers a chance to work in a nationally recognized setting that values skill development, teamwork, and professional growth. The dedication demonstrated through punctuality and full attendance will be rewarded, making this a highly attractive short-term opportunity for committed culinary professionals.
