Job Description
Sidekicks Stay & Play, located in Amarillo, TX, is a pet care company dedicated to fostering happier and healthier lives for pets through enrichment and exceptional care. Established in 2021, Sidekicks Stay & Play emphasizes a company culture rooted in respect, growth, and creating positive experiences for every visitor, whether human or furry friend. The company firmly believes in the principle that caring for their team members translates directly into superior care for their clients, creating a nurturing and collaborative workplace environment that supports both professional development and personal fulfillment. Sidekicks Stay & Play offers a unique opportunity for animal lovers to work in an environment that encourages the bond between pets and their owners, making it a rewarding and fulfilling place to build a career in pet care.
The role offered at Sidekicks Stay & Play is that of a full-time Pet Care & Client Concierge team member. This is a dynamic position perfectly suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys hands-on pet care, and excels at client service. This role involves rotating between direct pet care duties, such as grooming prep and administering medication, to front desk responsibilities like greeting clients and managing check-ins and check-outs. The team member will play a crucial part in enriching the lives of pets while ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for all visitors by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming facility. An exciting aspect of this position is the allowance to bring your own pet to work, which reinforces the company’s pet-friendly culture.
On a typical day, a team member will provide care and enrichment for dogs and cats by feeding, watering, cleaning, facilitating playtime, and administering medication. They will also monitor guest health, behavior, and comfort to ensure each animal’s well-being. Client interaction is vital, requiring the team member to greet clients, answer calls, schedule services, and manage check-ins and check-outs through the computer system. Administrative duties include creating estimates, collecting necessary forms, and maintaining an organized database to support seamless operations. Additionally, keeping the lobby and play areas clean and tidy is essential to maintaining an inviting atmosphere. Taking and uploading photos for client report cards helps keep pet owners informed and connected to their pets’ daily activities. Collaboration with colleagues helps ensure that every guest and client has an exceptional experience.
The position offers a typical schedule averaging 35 to 45 hours per week with rotating weekend and holiday shifts. Shift times vary and can include early mornings starting at 5 am up to late evening shifts ending at 10 pm. The pay range is $10 to $14 per hour, influenced by experience and availability. Beyond immediate responsibilities, the role provides long-term growth opportunities within pet care, client relations, and leadership, with potential advancement opportunities within the broader Swann Animal Clinic family. This makes the job ideal for individuals passionate about expanding their careers in animal care and veterinary medicine while contributing positively to the community and the well-being of pets and their owners.
