Job Description
Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a distinguished private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that serves an expansive 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH stands out as a vital healthcare leader and provider of advanced medical services within the region. The system boasts a substantial workforce of over 6,000 dedicated colleagues who mirror the diverse communities they serve, reinforcing TMH's commitment to inclusive and compassionate healthcare.
TMH operates a 772-bed acute care hospital that is renowned for being the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit, and Pediatric Intensive Care unit. In addition to these critical care units, TMH is recognized for housing the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic, and surgery programs in the Florida Panhandle. Beyond the acute care setting, TMH's comprehensive healthcare system includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs, and over 50 affiliated physician practices, ensuring a broad spectrum of healthcare services are accessible to the community.
Within this esteemed organization, there is an opening for a leadership role focused on the operational reliability and maintenance of the hospital’s physical plant. The position involves overseeing two specialized crews: General Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Mechanics. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient functionality of the hospital’s mechanical systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining detailed records related to fuel oil inventory, annual inspections, and insurance documentation. A deep understanding of hospital mechanical operations and equipment is essential to successfully manage the daily operational needs.
Additionally, this role requires strategic management of critical parts inventory to support continuous and uninterrupted facility operations. The person in this position will report directly to the Executive Director of Facilities and supervise both Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians. With a minimum requirement of five years of relevant job experience and a high school diploma or equivalent, this career opportunity is ideal for an experienced maintenance leader looking to contribute significantly to a leading healthcare provider's enduring legacy of quality and compassionate care. TMH promotes a collaborative work environment where expertise and dedication to service excellence are highly valued.
