The role of Personal Chef at JUST TABLE IT is uniquely tailored for chefs who take pride in their craft and desire a better way to work. This role offers a refreshing alternative to traditional restaurant cooking by emphasizing thoughtful, detail-driven food preparation within the intimate setting of a client’s home. The chefs will be responsible for creating highly personalized menus that cater to each client’s preferences, dietary requirements, and lifestyle, focusing on delivering not only outstanding food but also an exceptional client experience. This position is designed as Monday through Friday work for one primary household, preparing five dinners per week for two people. Meals are cooked earlier in the day for the client to finish at their convenience, requiring a strong understanding of reheating and meal preservation techniques. Chefs are also accountable for all aspects of meal preparation, including menu planning, grocery shopping, meal packaging, labeling, and proper storage, all while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

This position demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work quietly and unobtrusively within the client’s home. Candidates must be attentive to detail, particularly regarding dietary restrictions such as nut-free and seed-free requirements, and demonstrate strong vegetarian cooking skills. As the company grows, there is potential for this role to expand to include multiple clients, additional cook dates, greater autonomy, and leadership or managerial opportunities for the right candidate. JUST TABLE IT emphasizes a supportive work environment with clear systems and structured communication to ensure chefs are never left without guidance. Starting compensation is $25 per hour after training with paid weekly wages through QuickBooks and the promise of consistent work with opportunities for increased hours and professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to independently shop and execute menus
  • ServSafe certified or willing to obtain
  • Up-to-date on Tdap and seasonal flu vaccinations
  • Must not work while ill and be comfortable with a health-conscious household
  • Ability to pass a background check
