Job Description

Zen Educate is a dynamic educational staffing organization dedicated to partnering with public and charter schools across various school districts to strengthen school communities and enhance the educational experience for students and educators alike. Established with a mission to support schools by providing highly qualified and passionate educational professionals, Zen Educate specializes in connecting schools with para educators, paraprofessionals, and classroom aides who contribute significantly to the development and success of students, particularly those with special needs. By offering personalized job matches and continuous mentorship, Zen Educate ensures that educators are supported at every stage of their employment journey, enabling them to focus on nurturing student growth and learning.

Currently, Zen Educate is actively recruiting for the 2026-2027 academic year, focusing on hiring Para Educators who are enthusiastic about making a meaningful impact in special education settings. As schools are on summer break, this period presents an excellent opportunity for candidates to secure their roles early, complete onboarding processes smoothly, and demonstrate their skills ahead of the busy fall session. This strategic approach helps new team members enter the academic year fully prepared and confident to provide essential support from day one.

The Para Educator role at Zen Educate is specially tailored to support licensed teachers in delivering effective instruction and care to students with a spectrum of special educational needs. Those hired will be responsible for providing daily substitute coverage in special education classrooms, offering academic assistance, personal care, and behavioral support to students. The role is fundamental in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and socially. Candidates interested in longer-term placement opportunities will find this role a stepping stone to a potential more permanent position, provided there is mutual fit and interest.

This position emphasizes hands-on involvement with students, including small group work to reinforce learning material, assisting with classroom communications, maintaining a conducive learning atmosphere, and supporting personal hygiene and care needs such as toileting. This comprehensive support helps address varied student requirements and promotes inclusivity within the school community. The role requires physical stamina and adaptability, as Para Educators will be on their feet and actively engaging with students throughout the school day. Physical tasks include lifting up to 20 pounds and providing quick and safe assistance when necessary.

Zen Educate values candidates with prior experience working with children who have special needs and those who can demonstrate competence in personal care assistance. The organization also stresses the importance of professional proficiency in English and U.S. work authorization, given that it cannot sponsor employment visas or facilitate relocation. For candidates with experience in schools or CPI training, there is an added advantage.

The compensation package includes a competitive pay range of $19 to $21 per hour, with weekly payments, and a consistent Monday-Friday schedule during school hours with no weekend work. Additional benefits include paid sick leave and eligibility for a 401K plan, rounding out an offering designed to attract dedicated professionals who are committed to making a positive difference in students' lives. Zen Educate invites interested candidates to connect with a recruiter to begin the application process and secure their placement for the upcoming academic year.
