For the 2026-2027 academic year, Zen Educate is currently recruiting Para Educators who are eager to support students with special needs in a dynamic school setting. This full-time, in-person role offers a competitive salary ranging from $25 to $29 per hour, with consistent weekly pay and a supportive work schedule from Monday to Friday during typical school hours, generally from 7:30 a.m. to between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m., ensuring no weekend work. The positions primarily involve acting as paraprofessionals or classroom aides in special education classes, offering substitute coverage with the potential for longer-term employment based on fit and interest. Early recruitment ahead of the academic year allows candidates to complete onboarding smoothly, demonstrate their skills, and secure their place in the school community before the school year starts.

In this vital role, Para Educators at Zen Educate provide comprehensive support to licensed teachers by assisting with academic adaptations for students requiring special education services. They participate actively in fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment, offer one-on-one or small group assistance, and help reinforce educational lessons while implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Their tasks also include helping manage classroom behavior through established behavior plans and encouraging positive social interactions among students with disabilities and their peers. Alongside these responsibilities, Para Educators may assist with personal care activities such as toileting, feeding, and dressing when necessary, emphasizing the holistic nature of their support. Candidates should be physically comfortable moving around the classroom throughout the day and capable of safely assisting students with physical needs.

The role requires a deep passion for working within special education, along with relevant experience and qualifications. The ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience working with children with special educational needs, and proficiency in personal care support. While CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred, training is provided for otherwise qualified individuals. Candidates should have professional English language skills and U.S. work authorization. Additional preferred qualifications include prior school experience and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training.
