Job Description

Zen Educate is a technology-driven platform dedicated to revolutionizing the education staffing system by seamlessly connecting schools with high-quality educators. Founded with the mission of simplifying the hiring process, Zen Educate utilizes innovative technology to match educators with roles that align perfectly with their skills, preferences, and availability. This approach reduces the common barriers and friction traditionally faced by both schools and educators, leading to a more transparent, efficient, and fair educational employment landscape.

As an education technology company, Zen Educate focuses on improving the quality and accessibility of educational support by providing timely and suitable staffing solutions. The platform supports school districts and educational institutions in hiring paraprofessionals and classroom support staff, especially for specialized roles such as special education. Zen Educate operates with a strong commitment to enhancing student outcomes by ensuring that classrooms are supported with highly capable and motivated professionals.

The paraprofessional role offered for the 2026-2027 school year is centered on providing specialized assistance in special education (SPED) classrooms. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and are eager to make a meaningful and lasting impact on students' lives. It involves working collaboratively with licensed teachers to support students who require academic adaptations and targeted behavioral and social-emotional interventions. Employees in this role are entrusted with promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment while addressing individualized student needs.

Key facets of this role include implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and supporting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to students with special educational needs. Paraprofessionals in this position provide one-on-one or small group support, focusing on enhancing self-regulation, engagement, and developing social-emotional skills through positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques. Additionally, the role requires hands-on assistance with personal care activities such as toileting, feeding, and dressing, which are vital for some students’ participation and comfort in the school environment.

The role is designed with flexibility in mind, typically requiring the paraprofessional to provide daily substitute coverage in SPED classrooms. There is also the opportunity for securing longer-term placements should the fit be mutually beneficial. The schedule is Monday through Friday, generally between 7:30 am and 3:00/4:30 pm, ensuring the role supports a balanced work-life integration with no weekend work required. Hours per week typically range from 25 to 30 for full-time roles, and compensation is competitive at $20 to $23 per hour, paid weekly.

Working with Zen Educate means engaging in a collaborative environment with access to ongoing training sessions and professional development opportunities. These training programs are focused on the latest advancements in special education techniques and behavioral support strategies, helping staff maintain high standards of care and educational quality. Additional benefits include paid sick leave, eligibility for 401K plans, and a supportive community dedicated to educational excellence.

This position is perfect for candidates with a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and experience or interest in special education. Zen Educate requires candidates to be U.S. work authorized and at least 18 years old. Physical requirements involve being able to stand and move within the classroom, lift up to 20 pounds, and assist students safely. Preferred qualifications such as CPR certification, experience with behavioral interventions, or specialized training like CPI or Pro Act are a plus.

By joining Zen Educate as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom, you will play a critical role in empowering students with unique needs to thrive academically and socially. This career opportunity is not only about employment but about making a real difference in the lives of children who benefit from specialized educational support. Start your career journey this spring and become part of a community dedicated to educational innovation and student success.
