Job Description

Zen Educate is a leading educational support organization dedicated to connecting schools with highly skilled and passionate education professionals. Our mission is to simplify the hiring process for educational institutions while enhancing the quality of support provided to students, especially those with unique learning needs. At Zen Educate, we emphasize fostering an enriching environment for both educators and learners by placing qualified paraprofessionals and support staff in classrooms that require dedicated assistance. This approach ensures that students receive the individualized care and academic support they deserve, contributing positively to their educational journeys.

Zen Educate is currently hiring for paraprofessional and support staff roles to assist special education students. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. The role involves working closely with licensed teachers to provide academic adaptations, self-care support, and help with social and behavioral challenges. Candidates will primarily be engaged in providing daily substitute coverage in special education classes, with the potential for transitioning into longer-term positions based on interest and fit.

The paraprofessional role requires a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual who can manage a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth. The position includes working directly with students in one-on-one or small group settings, assisting them in achieving the goals outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs). Candidates will also play an essential role in supporting students during crisis situations and facilitating community outings, which may include transportation responsibilities.

Those joining Zen Educate in this capacity will be instrumental in utilizing diverse teaching methods aimed at enhancing the educational experience and ensuring that students receive tailored support. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $22, with pay issued weekly. Work schedules are Monday through Friday, between 7:30 am and 3:00/4:30 pm, with no weekend work, making it an excellent choice for work-life balance.

This role also demands a readiness to engage in personal care duties, highlighting the need for individuals who are flexible and committed to ongoing learning. Zen Educate values previous experience in special education, behavioral support, crisis prevention, and related certifications such as CPR, though training for some skills may also be provided. Overall, the paraprofessional position at Zen Educate offers a fulfilling career path within the education sector, supporting children with special needs while providing stability and growth opportunities for the staff.
