Job Description

The Perioperative Cardiothoracic-Vascular Procedures Service Line Coordinator role is based within a specialized surgical service line dedicated to cardiothoracic and vascular procedures. This position exists at a healthcare facility that focuses on providing comprehensive surgical care to patients with cardiovascular diseases and complex thoracic conditions. Typically situated within a hospital or a large surgical center, this role is critical in advancing the quality and efficiency of perioperative care for a wide spectrum of patients. The healthcare establishment is committed to delivering state-of-the-art surgical interventions, staff education, and continuous quality improvement to optimize patient outcomes and safety.

As part of this multidisciplinary team, the Service Line Coordinator plays a central role in managing and coordinating the perioperative processes specifically related to cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries. This includes educating and training an interdisciplinary team comprised of nurses and surgical technologists engaged in this specialty. The coordinator works closely with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure that service line equipment, instruments, and supplies are maintained appropriately to support the seamless delivery of surgical care. Acting as a liaison between surgeons and materials management personnel, the coordinator engages in value analysis efforts to optimize resources without compromising quality. This role requires a proactive approach to lead quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and enhancing service efficiency.

The position might involve coordination of the daily surgical schedule, functioning in a leadership capacity such as a charge nurse when required. Flexibility is expected as the coordinator may be assigned to other procedural service lines depending on surgical case volumes. This role demands a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree, with strong perioperative nursing skills and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a dynamic surgical environment. The candidate must hold active licensure in the state of Florida and maintain certifications such as BLS and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) within stipulated timelines. Experience in operating room practice is essential, with 1-2 years preferred. This opportunity offers a meaningful role where clinical expertise, education, leadership, and quality oversight converge to improve patient surgical experiences and outcomes across all age groups.
