The Performance Chef role at Osceola Heritage Park is a critical position supporting the Orlando City Major League Soccer Club (OCSC) and its various teams. This position is responsible for meeting the specialized nutritional needs of the OCSC first team players and supporting the club’s broader athlete community by crafting menus that are both culturally sensitive and nutritionally aligned with the demands of training, competition, and recovery. The Performance Chef will be a vital part of the performance team, working closely with the club’s dietician to innovate menus that optimize player health and performance.
The ideal candidate for this role will be well-versed in global cuisine to accommodate the multinational backgrounds of the players, using expert culinary knowledge to educate and influence their food choices effectively. This role requires someone who leads by example, excels in communication, and demonstrates superior organizational skills to create and maintain culturally tailored meal plans. Accountability is paramount, as the Performance Chef is responsible for the quality of food served and the environment within the training ground restaurant.
Further, this role demands a proactive approach to professional development, with the chef expected to stay updated on culinary trends and emerging literature related to performance-enhancing ingredients. The Performance Chef will also have leadership responsibilities, including training and developing support staff to ensure all kitchen operations are performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Understanding budget constraints while maintaining financial performance and inventory control is essential.

Job Duties
- Tailor individual meals to meet dietary requirements, allergies, or performance needs
- Plan and create menus in collaboration with the club’s dietician aligned with nutritional philosophy
- Seek feedback from players and staff to evaluate food services and menus
- Optimize budget through control of stock-check, ordering, and replenishment while ensuring financial performance
- Deliver educational sessions with the club dietician to help players develop cooking and food hygiene skills
- Manage all kitchen personnel and ensure a professional and clean working environment
- Maintain high standards in all kitchen operations
