Per Diem Pediatric Developmental Pediatrician | Teaching Opportunities

Providence Medical Group Alaska (PMGA) is a respected multi-specialty physician group that provides comprehensive healthcare services across Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. The group comprises approximately 70 physicians and advanced-practice clinicians who offer both primary and specialty care. Affiliated closely with The Children’s Hospital at Providence, which houses Alaska's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), PMGA ensures integrated pediatric services encompassing various specialties such as neonatology, ENT, audiology, pediatric ophthalmology, cardiology, hematology/oncology, and pediatric surgery. This integration allows for a seamless referral and consultation process enhancing patient outcomes. The clinics under PMGA include Primary Care, Behavioral Health, the Family Residency Program, Alaska CARES, and a Palliative Care Clinic, indicating a broad spectrum of services offered to patients of all ages and conditions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to join PMGA as a per diem developmental behavioral pediatrician, advanced nurse practitioner with developmental behavioral pediatrics (DBP) training, and/or a Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD) physician. The role is embedded within a growing ambulatory pediatric subspecialty practice that includes Pediatric Neurology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, and Seattle Children’s Hospital outreach clinics. The interdisciplinary team consists of pediatric neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurse case managers, and general pediatricians. The pediatric subspecialty practice fosters collaboration across disciplines to provide holistic care, focusing on children with complex developmental and behavioral needs.

Working in this role, you will benefit from an established patient base and a balanced work schedule from Monday to Friday, with no after-hours call responsibilities, providing a healthy work-life balance. In addition, there are opportunities to participate in medical education through training of medical students via the WWAMI program, which enriches the professional development aspect of the position. Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in developmental-behavioral pediatrics and possess experience in the field.
