The Director, Supply Chain: Procurement & Sourcing role is a pivotal position within A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice, which serves middle market and large cap private equity clients. This role focuses on leading critical supply chain initiatives with a strong emphasis on procurement and sourcing strategies. The position involves working directly with private equity teams and portfolio companies to analyze procurement organizations, develop sourcing strategies, and implement impactful solutions that improve financial and operational performance. Directors are responsible for leading workstreams, conducting detailed analyses, and managing client relationships to drive sustainable value creation.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $225,000 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geography, along with a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or related field
- 10-15 plus years of combined consulting and/or industry operating experience
- Previous advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy
- Deep industry expertise in direct materials
- Preference for roles within sourcing and procurement in manufacturing
- MBA preferred
- Experience with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies
- Demonstrated strategic sourcing leadership
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to travel up to 80%
Job Qualifications
- 10-15 plus years of combined consulting and/or industry operating experience
- Previous advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy required
- Deep industry expertise in direct materials such as steel, resin, commodity chemicals, packaging, food/beverage, automotive, textiles, solvents, plastics, polymers, adhesives, pulp, and IT
- Preference for industry roles within sourcing and procurement functions within manufacturing companies
- MBA preferred
- Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies
- Focus on managing direct and/or indirect categories
- Demonstrated track record of leading sustainable high-impact strategic sourcing approaches
- Exemplary experience designing end-to-end procurement strategies
- Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis
- Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time
Job Duties
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s procurement organization and strategic sourcing capabilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet growth and financial objectives through effective integration with forecasting, demand/supply planning, inventory management, and distribution & logistics
- Develop and manage efforts in sourcing and procurement
- Lead supplier identification, approval, contract/pricing negotiations and vendor relations
- Develop implementation plans to drive proposed changes in procurement and sourcing initiatives
- Effectively perform analysis and/or lead teams to conduct analysis depending on project scope
