Job Description
Valor is a distinguished hospitality company recognized for its dynamic and passionate team of Hotelitarians—professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences that extend beyond traditional service. Valor champions thoughtful hospitality and sustainable dining with a global outlook, breathing enthusiasm, creativity, and local uniqueness into every property it manages. Its commitment to high standards and meaningful relationship-building defines the culture and vision at Valor, making it an environment where detail-oriented individuals who seek to make a lasting impact can truly thrive.
At Valor, the focus transcends conventional hospitality roles, emphasizing meaningful guest interactions, team collaboration, and owner satisfaction. The company’s portfolio includes a variety of hotels, each embodying Valor’s principles of creativity, innovation, and superior guest experience, and those looking to join Valor are encouraged to explore its broad spectrum of offerings and career opportunities through their official website.
Currently, Valor is inviting applications for the position of People and Culture Manager at The American Hotel in Atlanta. This role is crucial for shaping the human resources function within the hotel, ensuring full compliance with company policies and all pertinent legal requirements. The position's scope involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from managing recruitment processes, handling payroll systems, to fostering employee engagement and culture that aligns with company objectives.
The People and Culture Manager acts as a strategic partner to both the hotel leadership and the regional human resources team, ensuring a cohesive approach to talent management, compensation strategies, succession planning, and compliance with employment laws. The role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to analyze and solve issues proactively, and effective communication to bridge between leadership, employees, and corporate standards.
This position requires overseeing numerous HR-related systems, including computerized filing, Adams Keegan payroll platform, and employee engagement survey initiatives. A significant part of the role includes coaching and facilitating hiring managers in staffing strategies and standardizing recruitment and selection processes. The People and Culture Manager must also serve as a change agent for employee-centric initiatives and present creative ideas to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
An integral aspect of this role is supporting managers and associates by providing guidance in documentation practices surrounding disciplinary actions, coaching, and performance improvement, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and timely submission to leadership. The manager is also responsible for conducting wage and benefit surveys and collaborating on out-of-policy compensation requests to maintain competitive and fair compensation standards.
This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) with employer match, daily pay options, a team member discount program, and tuition reimbursement—benefits that emphasize Valor’s commitment to its people. While relocation assistance is not available for this role, candidates with a background in hotel or retail human resource management, strong business acumen, and excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply.
If you are passionate about fostering a positive and productive work environment, driving HR initiatives with dedication, and supporting the growth and success of both individuals and the organization, the People and Culture Manager position at Valor’s The American Hotel is a remarkable career opportunity to influence and elevate the human resources function in a vibrant hospitality setting.
