The employee will be responsible for accurately processing orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system and delivering food and beverages in a timely manner. Additionally, responsibilities include assisting colleagues with maintaining clean and presentable tables, managing guest payments, and handling to-go orders, including greeting customers during curbside pickups. The role demands a high level of physical stamina as it involves standing and walking throughout the shift, lifting plates and trays safely, and performing various opening, closing, and sidework duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to operate POS systems
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Must comply with health and safety standards
  • Valid food handler certification as required
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
  • Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
  • Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
  • Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Work in a fast paced environment

Job Duties

  • Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • Be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
  • Accurately enter orders into POS system
  • Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • Pack and verify all ToGo orders with guest
  • Greet guests at the curbside pickup area
