Job Description
The server role at Flanigan's is crucial to the success of each service shift. Servers are responsible for welcoming and guiding guests throughout their dining experience, accurately taking and relaying orders, and ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages. This position demands a balance of attentiveness, knowledge, and physical stamina, as servers must interact warmly with guests, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- must be at least 18 years old
- ability to handle cash and operate POS systems
- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- must comply with company dress code and grooming standards
Job Qualifications
- Ability to physically stand/walk 100% of shift
- ability to reach, bend, stoop frequently
- able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to speak, read and write English
- ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
- complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
- complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
Job Duties
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
- be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests' questions verbally and clearly
- accurately write down guests' orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
- retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
- assess guests' demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
- collect guests' payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
- perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
- restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
