The Server role at Flanigan's is critical in shaping the guest experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. Servers are responsible for welcoming guests warmly, guiding them through the menu, taking accurate orders, and ensuring timely and courteous service throughout the meal. This position requires individuals who take joy in serving and who possess a passion for hospitality. Servers must be knowledgeable about the food and beverage menus, including current promotions, so they can effectively answer guests' questions and make recommendations.

Additionally, the Server is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of tables and the dining area, running food and drink orders, and addressing any guest concerns promptly by summoning managerial support when necessary. The ability to handle payment transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system and to perform opening and closing duties, as well as assigned sidework, is essential. This role also includes restocking and maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms for guests.

Flanigan's values servers who are physically capable of standing and walking throughout their shifts and who can manage tasks that require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Moreover, effective communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English are necessary to perform the job effectively and safely. Servers must complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification to ensure ongoing compliance with both Flanigan's standards and Florida statutes.

Job Duties

  • Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests' questions verbally and clearly
  • accurately write down guests' orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
  • retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • assess guests' demeanor and identify when to summon a manager
  • collect guests' payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
