The role of the food preparation team member is essential to the successful operation of our restaurant. This position involves preparing and cooking all menu items according to company specifications, fully stocking the pantry before shifts, and managing kitchen equipment setup, operation, breakdown, and cleaning. Candidates must understand proper chemical handling, maintain compliance with safety guidelines, and operate the POS system. They will guide guests in menu selection, differentiating between spicy and mild dishes, and make adjustments based on guest requests, including dietary restrictions such as allergies or gluten-free preferences. The ability to work in various temperature conditions and participate in routine cleaning tasks such as washing dishes and sanitizing utensils is required. This full-time role demands someone who is self-motivated, organized, and committed to quality service, thriving in a dynamic and sometimes demanding kitchen environment. A current Food Handler's Card is required where applicable. Job Requirements
- Must possess a current Food Handler's Card where applicable
- ability to stand and walk for four to ten hours each shift
- ability to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly
- must be able to hear with 100 percent accuracy with correction
- must be able to see at 20/20 vision with correction
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- previous prep or line cook experience
- knowledge of cooking and knife handling skills
- ability to prepare and present menu items with cook time requirements
- understanding of how to modify dishes due to guest requests such as allergies or gluten free
- reading, writing, and math skills
- ability to speak clearly and listen attentively
- understanding of English language
- ability to work in a team environment
- ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook all food menu items to company specifications
- stock pantry station fully before the shift
- setup, operate, breakdown, and clean all kitchen equipment
- use proper sanitation practices and safety procedures
- operate the POS system
- wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, clean and maintain equipment, sanitize utensils, and maintain all areas of the restaurant
- guide guests on choosing menu items and modify dishes according to guest needs
