This role is critical in ensuring that guests receive their meals prepared to company specifications and delivered with efficiency and care. The position involves preparing and cooking all food menu items, managing pantry stocks before shifts, and operating kitchen equipment safely. Additionally, the employee will have responsibilities that include following sanitation guidelines, proper handling of cleaning chemicals, and maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen and restaurant areas. Interaction with guests through POS system operations and assisting them in understanding menu options, especially concerning spice levels and dietary modifications, is a key aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate will be able to multitask in a high-volume environment, demonstrating excellent knowledge of cooking techniques and knife handling skills. They must be organized, self-motivated, and committed to providing quality service. Standing and walking for extended periods, lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and working within various temperature conditions are physical requirements of the job. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- previous prep or line cook experience
- ability to prepare and present menu items with cook time requirements
- reading, writing, and math skills required
- ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees and management
- must possess a current Food Handler's Card where applicable
- ability to work in a team environment
- ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work physical shifts including standing and walking for four to ten hours
- ability to lift and transport objects up to 30 pounds
- ability to hear and see with correction

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook all food menu items to company specifications
- stock pantry station fully before the shift
- setup, operate, breakdown, and clean all kitchen equipment
- handle cleaning chemicals properly
- consistently use all prep tools and equipment according to safety guidelines
- operate the POS system
- learn restaurant menu and recipes to guide guests on choosing menu items and modifying dishes per guest needs
- use proper sanitation practices and safety procedures including possessing a current Food Handler's Card where applicable
- follow dress code
- perform duties associated with kitchen operations
- work around varying temperature levels in the kitchen
- stock and organize daily or weekly deliveries
- wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, clean and maintain equipment, sanitize utensils, and maintain all areas of the restaurant
