The role of the cook/prep cook is central to the kitchen operations within this busy restaurant setting. The primary responsibility is to accommodate guests by preparing and executing food orders precisely according to established recipes and procedures. This role demands a high level of culinary skill, attention to detail, and a passion for food service. The successful candidate will be tasked with preparing and cooking menu items that meet the company’s specifications, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.

In addition to cooking, the position involves maintaining the pantry station fully stocked before the start of each shift and managing the setup, operation, and thorough cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace. Knowledge of proper chemical handling is essential, as is consistent adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, including possessing a current Food Handler’s Card where applicable. This role also requires operating the POS system to assist with order accuracy and efficiency.

The cook/prep cook must demonstrate strong knowledge of the restaurant's menu, including the ability to guide guests on choosing between spicy and mild dishes and modifying meals based on guest requirements such as allergies or gluten-free preferences. The ability to follow dress code policies and perform various kitchen duties—including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning equipment, sanitizing utensils, and organizing deliveries—is also necessary.

The position demands resilience as the kitchen environment involves working around various temperature levels, including extremely warm conditions. Candidate must have excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with team members and management in a fast-paced environment. The restaurant seeks individuals who are self-motivated, organized, and committed to providing quality service, capable of multitasking under pressure while functioning well within a team-driven atmosphere.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cooks all food menu items to company specifications
  • Stocks Pantry station fully before the shift
  • Setup, operation, breakdown, and cleaning of all kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of proper handling of all chemicals used in the building
  • Consistently uses all prep tools and equipment according to safety guidelines
  • Operates the POS system
  • Ability to learn restaurant menu and recipes and to guide the Guests on choosing menu items between spicy and mild dishes, with the ability to modify according to Guest need
