The role of Pediatrics Medical Receptionist at MMC is a vital position that supports the smooth operation within the pediatric department. This role is foundational to providing excellent patient care by managing clerical duties, facilitating effective communication, and ensuring a supportive atmosphere for both patients and healthcare providers. The Pediatrics Medical Receptionist represents MMC with courtesy and professionalism and is often the first point of contact for patients and their families, making their role crucial in shaping a welcoming and efficient patient experience. Key responsibilities include greeting guests and answering incoming calls promptly, taking accurate messages, processing voicemails, and adhering strictly to MMC's policies and procedures. This role requires excellent scheduling and patient interaction skills, including the ability to coordinate and reschedule appointments efficiently, screen and direct calls appropriately, and utilize technology such as the Phreesia pad for patient check-ins to streamline patient flow.
Additionally, the receptionist is responsible for managing patient billing and payments, including collecting co-pays and deductibles, processing payments accurately, and preparing daily deposits. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate patient demographics, insurance information, and referrals, ensuring correct billing and reimbursement processes. The role demands reliability and flexibility, with the expectation of punctuality and willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary to support optimal patient care. Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines, adherence to MMC policies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace are mandatory for ensuring a safe and professional environment. MMC offers a supportive workplace with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, FSA and HSA options, a 401(k) plan with company match, gym membership reimbursement, wellness programs, and more. Joining MMC as a Pediatrics Medical Receptionist offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a respected healthcare institution that values its employees and fosters career growth.
