Job Description

Casa de las Campanas is a premier senior living community located in the scenic Rancho Bernardo area, offering upscale resort-style living with a unique blend of all-inclusive lifestyle, exceptional hospitality, and a beautiful natural environment. The community fosters a vibrant and active atmosphere where well-traveled and outdoorsy seniors enjoy engaging social activities, dining experiences, and exploring the outdoors with scenic trails and picturesque views. As a part of Life Care Services management, Casa de las Campanas prides itself on upholding a strong commitment to quality care through strong Hospitality Promises, including warm greetings, respectful treatment, responsiveness, accountability, and professionalism, ensuring that every resident feels valued and cared for in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role at Casa de las Campanas is vital to our mission of enhancing the lives of seniors by providing direct resident care and support in daily living activities, under the supervision of the Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care or the Licensed Vocational Nurse Charge Nurse. This full-time position offers shifts in Memory Care and Assisted Living areas, organized on 4-on/2-off rotating schedules, which can include mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The pay rate ranges from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role and the skills required.

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation. You will also perform light housekeeping duties within individual units and assist residents during admissions, transfers, or discharges. Reporting observed changes or unusual occurrences to the nursing staff is crucial, as is helping transport residents within the community to various activities and dining locations using wheelchairs as needed.

Accuracy and timeliness of documentation are essential components of this role, ensuring that each resident’s care records are correctly maintained. At Casa de las Campanas, employees enjoy a welcoming, engaging, and supportive atmosphere with comprehensive benefits including no employee medical insurance cost share, dental and vision coverage, life and long-term disability insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and holidays, pet insurance, AFLAC options, and more. Additionally, staff can take advantage of a $1,000 retention bonus tied to availability and hours worked, daily pay options, and monthly employee engagement activities.

This role is perfect for compassionate individuals with experience in personal care assistance who hold current First Aid certification and a high school diploma or equivalent. It offers an extraordinary work environment where making a difference in seniors' lives is a daily accomplishment and where employees are recognized and valued by both the organization and the residents they serve. If you are dedicated to providing exceptional care and want to be part of a community that truly values its members, Casa de las Campanas is the place for you.
