The Patient Services Supervisor will function under general supervision, with responsibilities spanning planning, directing, and coordinating all activities related to food and beverage service within the hospital. This involves overseeing teams engaged in food preparation, service, and cleanup across various settings such as the cafeteria, production areas, storeroom, and tray lines. The role is crucial to ensuring HACCP guidelines and regulatory agency requirements are strictly followed to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and food quality. This supervisor will have an operational oversight function, managing assignments of cooking personnel to optimize food usage and ensure timely preparation, scheduling and negotiating catering arrangements for hospital events, and resolving customer complaints effectively. Monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation quality is a significant part of this job to assure compliance with hospital standards and customer satisfaction. Health and safety compliance, including sanitation and fire regulations associated with food service and facility maintenance, is vigorously monitored and documented to adhere to government regulations. Inventory management responsibilities include overseeing food supplies and equipment orders, arranging for equipment maintenance and coordinating services such as waste removal and pest control. Staff supervision duties encompass assessing staffing needs, recruiting team members, mentoring, and ongoing performance monitoring to foster a well-trained, motivated, and effective workforce. The position demands skills in leadership, operational management, food safety, customer service, conflict resolution, and staff development. Candidates should possess knowledge of food safety and HACCP guidelines, as well as expertise in staff supervision and food service operations management. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience performing food preparation and/or service in educational, restaurant, hotel, correctional, military, or medical institute
  • 1-3 years lead experience
  • SERVSAFE Food Handler certification ANSI American National Standards Institute

Job Duties
