The Floating Patient Services / Retail Director role is an exciting leadership position within Aramark’s Food Service Department in the Northern New Jersey region. This role oversees the planning, directing, and management of Patient Services and Retail operations, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs. The Director will be responsible for multiple unit operations, including supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, handling administrative functions, and supporting compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

In this role, the Director will maintain a positive customer service attitude and be responsive to the needs of patients and customers. Responsibilities include employee selection and performance management, supervision of meal service, inspection of dining and kitchen areas to meet sanitary standards, and monitoring food quality and safety daily. The position requires diligent record-keeping, handling cash procedures appropriately, and enforcing safety protocols. Compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulations is essential, as well as abiding by Aramark's standards of operation and business conduct policies.

The Director will play a pivotal role in addressing the specific needs of the patient population served, demonstrating knowledge of age-related patient issues. Leading and coordinating a team efficiently, this position encourages employee training, proper assignment of work, and maintaining accurate timekeeping records. The Director also manages personnel policies and handles matters related to hiring, orientation, training, evaluation, discipline, and termination in accordance with employment regulations.

This position requires considerable travel, exceeding 50% of the time, to multiple sites within the Northern New Jersey region. The role offers a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 annually, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required. Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree plus 2 - 4 years of management experience or an associate's degree plus the equivalent of 6 years of management experience or 8 - 10 years' management experience with increasing degrees of responsibility attained

Job Duties

  • adheres to established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment
  • complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations
  • recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient population
  • maintains compliance with Aramark's standards of operation and business conduct policy at all times
  • maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and codes
  • maintains compliance with all requirements of federal, state and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended
  • supervises the daily functions of the department in such a manner as to ensure department efficiency and continuity of service
  • trains workers in performance of duties and assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote an efficient operation
  • maintains accurate record keeping system for employees' time cards
  • effectively coordinates and administers department personnel policies and procedures in conjunction with selection, orientation, training, assignment and staffing, evaluation, discipline and discharging employees in compliance with applicable employment regulations
  • performs all other related duties as assigned
  • travel more than 50% of the time
