The organization operates within a framework of guiding behaviors that promote accountability, respect, honest communication, presence, trust, and continuous learning. These values are deeply embedded in all aspects of the service provided by Trinity Health, ensuring that patients and communities receive care that is both person-centered and rooted in the highest standards of quality and compassion. They are an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming qualified applicants from all backgrounds without discrimination.
The role of Patient Services Manager within the Regional Health Ministry's (RHM) Food & Nutrition Services (FANS) Department is a vital leadership position responsible for managing and overseeing the entire patient foodservice unit. This full-time position operates on a rotating shift schedule and requires a proactive, dedicated professional who can successfully coordinate staff, supervise local RHM supervisors and other employees, and ensure seamless foodservice delivery aligned with Trinity Health’s mission and vision. The Patient Services Manager supports the general manager in developing preliminary program budgets, controlling expenses effectively, and implementing cost reduction strategies that do not compromise patient satisfaction or service quality.
This role demands an individual skilled in operational management and team leadership, capable of creating a positive work environment where creativity and teamwork flourish among colleagues across various functional areas. The manager is expected to maintain compliance with all foodservice standards, including safety, infection control, and hygiene, while ensuring patient meals meet all clinical care requirements. The position requires oversight of dietitians, tray assembly, tray delivery, and call center staff, ensuring that their roles are supported with necessary tools, training, and education materials tailored to various learning styles and cultural factors.
The Patient Services Manager also takes a hands-on approach in conducting performance audits, quality evaluations, and patient satisfaction surveys to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include direct involvement in hiring, training, coaching, performance appraisal, disciplinary measures, and fostering career development among the team. Collaboration with nursing leadership and other healthcare professionals is essential to support patient-centered care and enhance the overall patient experience.
To succeed in this role, the candidate should exhibit excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset. A background in healthcare foodservice management, institutional management, or dietetics is preferred, along with significant supervisory and managerial experience. The ability to handle multiple projects, adapt to change, and uphold high ethical standards aligned with Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program is crucial. The position provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected healthcare ministry committed to culinary, nutritional, and hospitality excellence.
