The Patient Services Manager 2 role at Sodexo is based at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, a premier long-term care and rehabilitation facility located on Roosevelt Island, New York. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for an experienced healthcare leader passionate about enhancing patient satisfaction and driving operational excellence in patient dining services. The Patient Services Manager 2 leads a team of approximately 90 union frontline employees, ensuring smooth daily patient dining operations and the delivery of high-quality meals. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position requires a hands-on leader who can mentor and develop staff while maintaining compliance with rigorous healthcare regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements.
As part of a collaborative leadership team that includes the General Manager, Clinical Nutrition Manager, Food Operations Managers, fellow Patient Services Managers, and client supervisors, the Patient Services Manager 2 plays an integral role in optimizing the patient dining experience. The role involves close coordination with nursing staff, clinical dietitians, and hospital administration to ensure meal accuracy, timely service, and overall exceptional care. This leader is responsible for monitoring patient satisfaction metrics and implementing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at raising service quality standards. Managing staffing, scheduling, and labor productivity are daily responsibilities, alongside fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and service excellence.

Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- two years management experience
- two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
- ability to manage large frontline teams
- strong leadership and communication skills
- experience with labor and productivity management
- hands-on approach to leadership
- ability to work in fast-paced healthcare environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- at least three years of progressive management experience in healthcare food service, hospitality, or a related field
- proven success managing large frontline teams
- excellent leadership, communication, and employee coaching skills
- strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service abilities
- experience managing labor, productivity, and operational performance
- hands-on leadership style with ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- healthcare or long-term care food service management experience preferred
- experience managing unionized employees preferred
- experience leading patient or resident dining operations preferred
- knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and healthcare regulatory standards preferred
- passion for delivering exceptional patient experiences through hospitality-focused service preferred
Job Duties
- Lead daily patient dining operations and meal service delivery
- supervise, coach, mentor, and develop approximately 90 union frontline employees
- ensure meal accuracy, quality, timeliness, and exceptional patient service
- conduct patient rounding and service recovery to enhance the patient experience
- partner closely with nursing, clinical staff, dietitians, and hospital leadership
- monitor patient satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory standards
- manage employee scheduling, staffing, productivity, and labor performance
- foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and service excellence
