The Patient Services Manager position is based at Penn Medicine - The Clifton Center for Medical Breakthroughs, a 504-bed state-of-the-art medical facility located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is integral to the Food & Nutrition Department, focusing on managing and enhancing the patient services operation. The key responsibility is to develop and implement innovative dining solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs and tastes of patients and customers within the healthcare setting. The position requires a keen understanding of government-mandated nutritional standards and technical expertise to translate these into practical, healthy menu plans that align with patient health goals.
As the Patient Services Manager, you will oversee patient feeding operations, ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, and actively drive improvements in patient satisfaction scores. Managing a team of patient service staff, you will ensure the seamless preparation and timely delivery of meals, conducting rounds to monitor service quality and patient experience. You will also oversee vital programs such as the diet office and the service ambassador program, as well as supervise tray line operations and room service programs. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining safety and sanitation compliance, fostering a safe and healthy dining environment for patients.
This position demands someone with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. Experience with healthcare patient services management and familiarity with managing unionized workforces is a plus. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including opening, closing, mid shifts, alternate weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is essential to effectively manage operations and reporting.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years food service management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Healthcare patient services experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Nutrition background preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Experience with union workforce management is an advantage
Job Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a food service management role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Healthcare patient services management experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
- Nutrition education and/or background preferred
- Ability to work varied schedules including opening, closing, mid shifts, weekends and holidays
- Experience managing a union workforce is a plus
Job Duties
