Located in Galveston, TX, Sodexo is seeking a Patient Services Manager 2 to join their team at UTMB. This role focuses on managing the patient dining program with a strong emphasis on enhancing patient satisfaction through excellent food quality and outstanding service delivery. As a Patient Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily patient meal rounds to ensure that all meals meet the defined standards for quality and presentation. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and continuously improving service levels within the patient services program to exceed both patient and customer expectations consistently.

You will be responsible for managing Sodexo's patient dining operations at UTMB, performing tray assessments for accuracy and food presentation, and ensuring that each patient receives a superior dining experience. The role requires a proactive approach to service recovery and the ability to achieve and maintain high marks on Gold Checks as well as successful outcomes in regulatory audits and inspections. This position demands professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service, all to foster a positive environment for patients.

Job Qualifications

  • associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum two years management experience
  • minimum two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
  • strong leadership skills with previous supervisory experience
  • proficient in computer skills and report management
  • working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and Market Connections (MSC)
  • excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • evaluate and develop service levels for the overall patient services program targeted to exceed patient and customer satisfaction
  • oversee Sodexo’s patient dining program and daily meal rounding inclusive of service recovery
  • perform tray assessments to ensure food quality and presentation and tray accuracy
  • exceed Sodexo standards for Gold Checks and achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits
  • manage and supervise patient dining staff to ensure efficient operation
  • communicate professionally with patients and hospital staff to resolve issues and improve service
  • analyze feedback to implement continuous improvements in the patient dining experience
