Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months previous experience with one-on-one customer service interaction
  • Previous computer data entry experience
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand or walk frequently

  • Preferred one year of college level education with nutritional emphasis

Job Duties

  • Ensure high quality, great-tasting and well-presented foods are served within established time frames
  • Verify all patients receive accurate and appropriate meal services according to prescribed diets
  • Review menu, census and production needs to manage daily functions
  • Assist in purchasing foods and supplies within cost restraints
  • Assist in preparation of food cost reports for inpatient areas
  • Monitor staff daily to ensure proper use of systems, protocols and quality assurance tools
  • Assist in menu adjustments based on customer preferences, seasonal variations and cost objectives
  • Visit all patient service areas daily to assess satisfaction and communicate findings
  • Ensure employee practices meet HACCP and infection control standards
  • Comply with federal, state and local regulatory requirements
  • Follow human resource policies and treat employees with fairness and respect
  • Participate in scheduling, performance appraisals and discipline
  • Assist with orientation and training of staff, including in-service programs
  • Communicate regularly with staff and hold daily team meetings
  • Serve as a role model by maintaining appearance, attendance and meal break standards
  • Enforce safety standards, submit maintenance requests, and report safety problems
  • Ensure sanitation standards and cleaning procedures are followed and signed off
  • Monitor and address temperatures in Temp Trak
  • Develop working rapport with staff in other departments
  • Open and close the department, ensuring security
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
