As a Patient Service Coordinator at MyEyeDr., you will be an integral part of the frontline team responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience during check-in and check-out processes. This role is a perfect entry point for individuals seeking to begin a career in vision care without requiring prior optical experience, as comprehensive training and support are provided to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the industry. You will collaborate closely with doctors and other staff members to ensure smooth appointment scheduling, patient education regarding insurance and payment options, and seamless communication to enhance overall patient satisfaction. The role requires multitasking skills including managing phone lines, greeting patients, coordinating appointments, and assisting with various administrative tasks. Additionally, there is the opportunity for cross-training in other roles such as Eyewear Consultant and Optometric Technician based on office needs, offering avenues for professional development and career advancement. This position reports directly to the Office General Manager and occasionally involves weekend and evening shifts to meet patient scheduling requirements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in front desk or customer service roles preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities
  • Comfortable using computer systems and software
  • Ability to provide friendly and patient-centric service under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a front desk, reception, or customer facing role supporting administrative duties and clerical tasks
  • Organized and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks under pressure while providing best in class service
  • Flexible and agile with the ability to wear multiple hats
  • Friendly, caring, and patient-centric with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player willing to collaborate for the best patient experience
  • Computer savvy with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Professional attitude with problem solving and patient service responsiveness

Job Duties

  • Provide patients a personalized check in/out process experience that creates a timely, seamless, and positive experience
  • Become a subject matter expert in insurance plans to help verify and educate patients on options as they check in/out for appointments
  • Assist in appointment confirmations and patient outreach in partnership with Doctor availability
  • Manage multiple phone lines, greet patients and walk ins, schedule appointments and assist office staff duties as needed
  • Cross train to other office support roles such as Eyewear Consultants and Optometric Technicians as office needs vary
  • Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
