The Patient Service Representative I (PSR I) role is a key position within Syracuse Community Health that acts as the primary point of contact for patients. The representative is responsible for numerous critical tasks including gathering and inputting patient information, verifying insurance forms, scheduling visits, making reminder calls, and managing correspondence. Shift times are flexible and range between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., accommodating various staffing needs and patient care times.

The Patient Service Representative I position is ideal for individuals with at least one year of related experience in medical office assistance, reception, or customer service within a healthcare environment. While a high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, additional education or certifications in healthcare or medical office administration are preferred, supporting staff professional growth and enhanced service quality.

Physical requirements for the role are minimal but important, including the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, as these are necessary for handling daily tasks effectively.
